Bozeman is a town in southern Montana, the 4th-largest city in the state.
Before Caucasian influence, this area was the territory of the Crow Indians, though many other tribes traveled through the land, which was called "the Valley of the Flowers." The area was visited by William Clark in 1806 and described in his journal, but the actual town of Bozeman was founded in 1864 by John Bozeman. The town's rich land attracted settlers despite the trail that led to it being closed.
Today, Bozeman is known for its location in the Rocky Mountains, and as the location of Montana State University.
