Belvoir Castle from afar
Belvoir is a tiny village in the county of Leicestershire in central England. It is located in the Vale of Belvoir close to the border of the county of Lincolnshire, 8 miles from Grantham

The town grew around Belvoir Castle, which was built in early medieval Norman times. The name means "beautiful view."

Today, Belvoir is known almost exclusively as the location of the beautiful Belvoir Castle, part of which is open to the public, and another part of which is still lived in by the Manners family, and remains the seat of the Dukes of Rutland.
