Beirut is the capitol and largest city of Lebanon, and the country's largest seaport.

The city's first mention in history is in ancient Egyptian documents dating to 15th Century BC, making Beirut one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world.

After being severely impacted by the Lebanese Civil War, Beirut has been largely rebuilt.
