Banning is a town in Riverside County in southern California, located in the San Gorgonio Pass and neighbor to the town of Beaumont, with which it has a friendly and close relationship. 

The area was originally inhabited by the Cahuilla Native American Indians, and the town was founded in 1824 as a Spanish mission.

Today, Banning is known for its valley scenery and surrounding mountains.
