Bagrationovsk, formerly known by its German name, Preubisch Eylau, is a town in the subject of Kaliningrad in far-western Russia. 

It was established as a castle by the Teutonic Knights in 1325. Today, the town is known for the remains of its castle and its historic ruined buildings from World War II.

Napoleon Bonaparte: I won the Battle of Eylau here in February of 1807, against Russian and Prussian forces. Though I technically won the battle, it was inconclusive, and considered a bloody stalemate.
