Aurora is a city in northeastern Illinois, often considered a suburb city of the greater Chicago area, and located on the Fox River.

It was first settled in 1834 by two brothers who bought the land and later built a mill there. A post office was opened in 1837, which is considered the official founding date of the town.

Today, the city is known for its proximity to Chicago, problems with gangs, its fast rate of growth, riverfront, casino, and architecture.
