Ankara is the capitol city of Turkey, and is the country's second largest city. It was founded in the Bronze Age as a Hattic civilization, and has survived continuously through numerous empires. Ruins throughout the city include those from Hittite, Phrygian, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires, making Ankara a rich source of archaeology and history.

Today, Ankara is known as an important center for economy and commerce, as the seat of the Turkish goverment. It is renowned for its cuisine, wool-making, and centrally diverse location in the world.
