Albany Skyline
Albany is the capital of the state of New York in the northeastern United States, located on the Hudson River. It is the 6th-largest city in its state.

It was established in 1614 as the Dutch Fort Nassau. In 1664, the English took over the town and renamed it Albany in honor of James II, who was then not yet reigning as king and was the Duke of Albany.

Today, Albany is known as the capital of New York, for its skyline, history, downtown area, grand and European Capital Building, and forward-thinking.
