Abernethy is a small town in the county of Perth and Kinross in mideastern Scotland. It was once the capitol of the Pictish Kingdom, but now has less than 950 inhabitants.

Abernethy in People's Lives

William the Conqueror: I marched into Scotland following an uprising there in 1072, and the rebels fled to this town. Instead of destroying them, I drew up the Treaty of Abernethy and requested that they agree to pay homage to me and accept me as their king, which they did.
